| || Title: Golden Cocoyea |
Author: Berkeley, Wayne
Description: Designed for Marcia Chandler - Barbados.
Male and female costumes. Both costumes are similarly styled and consist of a head piece, hand piece and suit. The head piece is made of and shaped like a cocoyea broom, a product of coconut tree branches; it is attached to a gold helmet. Another cocoyea broom is carried in the hand. The suit is a tent shaped dress, striped in different colours for both sexes. There is also a white fringed black collar with gold stripes worn over the dress. The costume is completed by the black and white banded armbands.
