Les Bijoux placed 2nd in the 1997 Carnival competition.
Female costume consisting of a one piece suit, a back piece and a head piece. The suit is sequinned in gold and green. A flared skirt in a tie dyed pattern of yellow, red, green and blue flows from the masquerader's waist and is opened at the front from waist to ankle. The masquerader also wears yellow arms bands and a head piece that is a pink spiky form, possibly a sea urchin, from which hang gold balls. A similar sea urchin figure hangs from the masquerader's waist. The back piece is a shaped like a yellow and pink veined sea fan attached to a larger gold, green and blue sequinned sea fan.

Title: Queen of the Follies

Band created for St Maarten carnival 1997.
Cirque des Follies won Band of the Year in the 1997 carnival competition.
Berkeley: Cirque des Follies is a great mixture of costumes and situations, taken from the Follies Bergere and influenced by the 'Cirque du Soleil'. All the costumes are pure fantasy, and do not relate to any given place or time. It is more like a spectacle, a show of costumes, and in some way relates to jewelry.
Female costume consisting of a back piece, head piece and suit. The back piece is a very elaborate and large series of six circles with feathers that resemble pinwheels, forming an arch over the back. The pinwheels have a large pink and orange jewel in the centre surrounded by a bezel of pink and orange semi-circles and large pink feathers interspersed with long, narrow pink feathers. The head piece is a tight black helmet with a sequinned front across the forehead, a white jewelled half-moon shape on the crown adorned with pink diamond shapes and a long pink feather boa hanging in the back. The suit is a one piece pink and gold bathing suit with a diamond brooch between the breasts and gold pants with a diamond fringe. The costume completed with gold perforated greaves on the shins and pink armbands with a very long beaded fringe.

Female costume which consists of a suit and standard. The standard is a long black and gold banded snake wrapped around the pole. The pattern of the snake is repeated in one armband while the other is black. The suit is a black bikini to which is attached a cold-shouldered leotaud with one leg, also in the gold and black snake pattern. The head piece is a black close-fitting helmet with small round marbles attached to the crown. The necklace is a bead studded gold ribbon with an oval shaped black jewel hanging in front.

Male costume consisting of a standard, head piece, collar and suit. The standard is a black umbrella with dangling, white beaded strands. The head piece is a silvery white helmet with beaded strands, falling like a spouting waterfall. The suit is a silver white tunic with a peaked blue hem which has one long, shredded, beaded sleeve. The masquerader wears dark blue tights under the tunic. The collar is rainbow coloured and has a neck beaded with large white jewels. The costume is completed by the white, beaded wristbands which have long fringe and the glittery boots.

Male costume consisting of a standard, head piece, shoulder piece and suit. The standard is a swirl of silver strips with a rainbow effect painted on the bottom of the uneven hem attached to a silver pole. The head piece is a silver helmet with a rainbow coloured crest on the crown. The shoulder piece is a rainbow coloured collar from which hangs a fringe in the same fashion as the standard and which is attached to the wrist, elbow and armbands. The suit consists of a white tee shirt and bathing trunks. The costume is completed by the shin length white boots and the single rainbow striped shin band.

The masquerader also wears a belt from which projects a silvery white sunburst and a white meteorite attached to one wrist.

Strike Up the Band was inspired by George Gershwin's work of the same name.
Female costume consisting of a head piece, shawl and suit. The head piece is a blue and white crown with two levels of diamond shaped points, worn at the back of the crown and a blue, diaphonous veil attached to the back. The suit is a one piece blue bathing suit with a triangular hem, like a jester's costume; there are two tiers of triangles, one in a lighter shade of blue with a teardrop shaped bead on each point, under darker blue triangles with blue diaphonous scarves hanging from each triangle. The costume is completed by the white shawl draped over the arms that has a pattern of musical notes and a string fringe.

The suit is a red bikini from which are draped gold bead fringes. A red and gold medallion is attached to each hip of a gold belt. Large gold feathers are attached to a gold frame on the back, interspersed with long red feathers and gold stars. The costume is completed by the red-banded gold arm and legbands.

The suit is a red bikini, the bra of which is sequinned in yellow and red and decorated with a bead brooch. The loincloth is flame shaped, in red, yellow and black, falling from the similarly coloured chevron shaped belt. The costume is completed by the yellow and red banded shinbands.

The suit consists of a white bolero, studded with gold sequins. The shirt is black and long sleeved with gold studded white cuffs. The trousers are also black with layers of white fringe on the hem. Swan Lake won Band of the Year in the 1991 carnival competition.

Female costume consisting of a standard, head piece and suit. The standard is a golden haired cherub's face with a pink ruff on a short pole and with pink, blue and gold streamers. The head piece is a blue jester's with varied colour banding and bells on the end of each piece. The suit is a blue, sleeveless jumpsuit with baggy legs in black, yellow, green and pink. The costume is completed by the pink and gold jester's ruff with gold bells.

Female costume consisting of a standard, head piece, sash, loincloth, cape and suit and is Thai dancer inspired. The standard is a pink and gold pennant on a pole. The head piece is a traditional gold peaked helmet for a Thai dancer with a pink orchid on the side. The sash is green, edged with gold and a gold fringe at the hems. The suit is a one piece pink bathing suit. The cape is green, edged with gold. The loincloth is pink, hanging from a gold beaded belt, scallop shaped, edged with gold and embossed with a gold flower pattern, finished with a gold tassel. The costume is completed by the gold arm and wristbands.

Title: Royal Trumpeter

Strike Up the Band won Band of the Year in the 1993 carnival competition.
Strike Up the Band was inspired by George Gershwin's work of the same name.
Male costume consisting of a head piece, cape, suit and trumpet. The head piece is a gold hat with a curled brim and a large white feathers at the front and back. The cape is cobalt blue with a gold edge, tucked into the waist of a skirt. A pleated gold skirt with a white cummerbund is worn over a pair of white tights. Black knee high boots with high tops are worn and the costume is completed by the gold wristbands and the trumpet which the masquerader carries. A gold fringed white flag with a gold and blue coat-of-arms and gold looped cords hangs from the trumpet.

Title: Rubie and Diamond

Les Bijoux placed 2nd in the 1997 carnival competition.
Female costume consisting of an elaborate back piece, head piece, shoulder piece and train. The masquerader wears a one piece red bathing suit to which is attached a draped red train. The back piece is very detailed, consisting of a brooch with arc-shaped swirls in alternate diamond and rubies arising from a ruby and diamond knot that extends around the masquerader and to the front side of a hip. The head piece is a diamond encrusted knot on a helmet while there is a diamond sash draped across the shoulder and under one arm with wing-like feathers on the shoulder. The costume is completed by red armbands, a ruby and diamond garter on one thigh, calf and ankle.

Female costume which consists of a head piece, back piece and loincloth. The masquerader wears a red bikini and red armbands. The head piece is a peacock-like tail made of alternate gold diamonds and ruby feathers which extend over the masquerader's head. The loincloth has the same pattern and is attached to a red belt. The head piece is a helmet that forms a peacock's head with ruby eyes and encrusted diamonds. There is a necklace of large gold diamonds and a calf band studded with rubies.

Title: Rubie Brooch

Les Bijoux placed 2nd in the 1997 carnival competition.
Female costume consisting of a head piece, cape, sash and loincloth. The costume portrays a ruby and diamond brooch. All the pieces are studded with white diamonds and large red cabochon rubies. The head piece is a brooch that looks like a knot with two loops. The standard is a long rectangle with one slanted end that is also fringed and lined with diamonds. The sash worn across the body has the same pattern and from which hangs two teardrop shaped rubies like a loincloth. A red cape with a wide white border trimmed in gold and ruby and diamond upper armbands complete the costume.

Male costume consisting of a back piece, breastplate, suit and calfbands. The back piece consists of seven diamond shaped rubies rising in decreasing sizes high above the masquerader's head each framed by a black and white jewelled bezel. The calfbands are flared black and white skirt-like pieces banded in red and white. The wristbands are red, banded in white. The intricate black and silver breastplate is shaped like a cutwork waistcoat, studded with diamonds around the lapel and with a human figure around the abdominal region attached to a black and white belt. The suit is simple red bathing trunks.

The neck piece is a large circle of yellow feathers, emerging from a pink and yellow floral shaped centre. The suit is a pair of pink bathing trunks. The costume is completed by the knee high yellow boots decorated with small pink feathers.

Title: Rum-Tum Tiger

Female costume consisting of a hand piece, head piece, suit and whip. The hand piece is a large green, gold and white hoop with the image of a tiger leaping through it. The head piece is a gold diadem with a medallion pattern, gold roses attached to one side and large gold fronds projecting from the centre of the roses. The suit is a gold fringed green bikini, the top of which has a gold tassel hanging from the bra top. There is green, gold fringed shawl worn over the pants held in place by a gold belt with the same medallion pattern as the diadem. A long gold feather boa enhanced with gold bead strings hangs from one hip. The armbands are green with ornate gold cuffs.

Male and female costumes. The male costume consists of a standard, head piece, cape and suit. The standard is a black and white striped pole. The head piece is a black Russian styled toque with a small feather attached with a brooch. The suit consists of a white tunic with a black brushstroke pattern. The cape is short and black with a beaded flower pattern. White tights are worn under the tunic, tucked into black socks and black shoes. The costume is completed by the large medallion necklace attached to a double chain. The female costume consists of a head piece, cape and suit. The suit has a white tunic with a black brushstroke pattern. The cape is short and black. The head piece is a black Russian toque with a small feather attached by a jewelled brooch. A broad black belt is worn over the tunic. White tights are worn under the tunic, tucked into black socks. A large pink, round medallion attached to chain is also worn. The costume is completed by the black shoes.
