In this West Indian folk tale, an old man gets his revenge on the trickster Bo Nancy. The old man builds a tar baby, puts a piece of bread in its hand, and puts it to stand at the junction where Bo Nancy is sure to pass. Bo Nancy, unaware that it is a trap, tries to take the bread from the tar baby, but gets stuck to it instead. He is forced to remain stuck to the tar baby until the old man returns and punishes Bo Nancy.

An old man is tricked by the character Bo Nancy. Bo Nancy convincs an old man that he would get a larger yam crop if he planted packages of boiled yams and salt-fish wrapped fig leaves. Bo Nancy then returns in the night, eats all the yam and salt fish, and laughs at the foolish old man he has tricked.
