Cirque des Follies won Band of the Year in the 1997 carnival competition.
Berkeley: Cirque des Follies is a great mixture of costumes and situations, taken from the Follies Bergere and influenced by the 'Cirque du Soleil'. All the costumes are pure fantasy, and do not relate to any given place or time. It is more like a spectacle, a show of costumes, and in some way relates to jewelry.
Female costume consisting of a head piece,back piece and suit. The suit is a blue and pink bikini, with large blue feathers attached to the pants like a tail. A belt with one large blue stone and a white beaded fringe is worn over the pants like a loincloth. The head piece is a blue helmet studded with large blue jewels and small gold diamonds and capped with an arch of large blue feathers on the crown. The back piece is a crescent shaped brooch of blue and gold jewels. The costume is completed by white arm and handbands, a long feather boa and high white roman type sandals.

Female costume consisting of a suit, head piece and standard. The standard is a blue and silver striped pole. The head piece is a helmet with a silver and blue sunburst pattern at the temples and six large blue feathers fanning out above the head, attached to the crown. There are large silver rings falling on either side of the jaws which are mock earrings. The suit is a blue one-piece bathsuit with a deep V neckline lined in silver with a silver necklace with a long line of rings falling to the chest. A silver belt with silver ball fringe is worn over the suit and falls in a triangle to the knees. Silver and blue banded arm and legbands complete the costume.

Male costume consisting of a head piece, drum and stole. The head piece is a gold diadem with a sunburst of jewel studded prongs attached to the back. The suit is a stole of gold, orange and green fabric worn like a traditional African costume. The costume is completed by the wide gold arm and wristband worn by the masquerader and the drum carried on a cord around the neck and shoulder.

Strike Up the Band was inspired by George Gershwin's work of the same name.
Male costume consisting of a head piece, standard, loincloth and suit. The standard is a cylindrical shaped object in a camouflage pattern of green, pink, yellow and black, with ribbons in the same colour floating downwards, attached to a black pole. The head piece is a white hairy mane. The chest piece consists of beaded strings worn across the torso, attached in the back and falling from a green and pink choker. The suit consists of two layers of puffy short pants in the camouflage fabric but with a wide gold belt over it. A black loincloth with a gold border and a gold tassel is worn over the trousers. The costume is completed by the gold belled shinbands and the striped armbands.

Title: After the Rain

Female costume consisting of a head piece, suit and umbrella. The umbrella is furled, in pink and yellow, fastened with a pink ribbon. The head piece is a large straw hat topped with fruit, flowers and palm leaves; a yellow scarf is tied around the head and knotted at the back. The suit is a bouffant purple dress with yellow and pink floral patterned puffed upper sleeves, with a small frill on the edge, narrow arms in purple and a white frill at the wrists; the bodice is narrow and purple with a draped yellow side skirt in a pink rose pattern; the five tiers of the skirt are raised in front to display the ragged hem white petticoats with beads on them. There is a sash made of yellow and pink roses and ribbons worn across the body and at the hip.

The suit is a white, one piece bathing suit with two asymmetrical lilac stripes, a pair of lilac pants over the suit and a white loincloth tucked into the pants. The cape is a lilac and white one with lilac and white stripes at the hem. The costume is completed by the lilac, purple and white, banded arm and legbands.

The standard is a gold fringed narrow, white flag with the image of a gold trumpet on it, carried on a white pole and enhanced with purple ribbons. The head piece is a gold helmet made like a trumpet, folded over the forehead and with a purple band around the base. The cape is attached to one shoulder, purple with white bands and fringe. The suit consists of a gold banded purple cross belt with gold fringed epaulettes, worn over a pair of thigh high gold tights. The costume is completed by the gold wristbands and the knee high gold boots with purple bands across the top.

Title: Amarant

Amarant is the name of a flower reputed to have grown in a secret maze in the legendary city of Atlantis; made up of two dormant butterflies in the form of a flower, only lovers who touch the flower can bring the butterflies to life.
Female costume consisting of a head piece, cape, loincloth and suit. The costume is in jewel colours of turquoise, pink, purple and lilac. The head piece both resembles the petals of a flower and butterfly wings, and are attached to a jewelled crown. The suit is a silver one piece bathing suit sequinned in pale blue. The cape is in the same fabric as the head piece, also shaped like petals. The costume is completed by the silver beaded armbands and the jewel encrusted silver greaves on the shins.

Title: Ambrosia

The head piece is a gold helmet, framing the face with a peach coloured petal like form rising above the head. The neck piece is a wide collar of the same fabric and colour, arched like a ruff. The back piece and train are both in the same fabric and peach and gold colour, with a scattering of beads on the edges and rises and spreads like petals. The suit is flesh coloured but with gold embellishments: a combined neck and torso piece in a triangular pattern that curves down the body like a bathsuit. The costume is completed by the gold gloves and peaked top, thigh high boots.

Title: Amethyst

Male costume consisting of a head piece and suit. The suit consists of baggy breeches in a dark lilac. A lilac sash is worn across the body with an amethyst gem highlighted with a beaded spray on one shoulder. The masquerader also wears a head piece with the gemstone attached to a diamond studded diadem. The single arm and calf band are both covered in a tie dyed lilac and blue fabric both ends of which are diamond studded. Gold beads hang from the girdle which is fringed at the end.

Heromyth won Band of the Year in the 1989 carnival.
Male costume consisting of a back piece, chest piece and suit. The back piece is a series of nine decreasing sized circles on top of each other; the centres are dark pink with a black and white checked border and finished with a white border, worn high above the head. The head piece is a simple dark pink and white spike on a white diadem. The chestplate is a white rectangle with a black pattern that is tucked into a belt. The belt is dark pink, with a black centre and a round buckle with dark pink and white circles resembling a flower. Two white strips of fabric fall from the shoulders and under the arms. The masquerader wears a pair of baggy draped white pants with a black pattern and which are open at the sides. The costume is finished with a pair of silver boots, and dark pink, black and white arm and legbands.

The head piece has two clusters of gems attached to either side of the head like large ears. A single amethyst from which diamonds are suspended make a necklace, while a cluster of gems are draped at the hip and attached to a loose black belt studded with diamonds.

Title: Angel of Sorrow

The head piece is a helmet with a feathered front emerging from a medallion, winged sides and a back of layers of strings of pearls. The suit appears to be a bodysuit, worn under a chest piece piece shaped like butterfly wings. The back piece consists of two pairs of wings, patterned with ovals and dots. The hip pieces which project out at the sides have the same pattern. Strings of pearls are draped around the wrists and attached to the wings. The costume is completed by the shinbands which have small wings attached to the sides.

Title: Angel of the Morning

Male costume consisting of a back piece, head piece, train, collar, loincloth and suit. The back piece is very elaborate, consisting of two pairs of bat like wings in a multi-coloured stained glass pattern, with a gold pipe organ behind them, embellished with gold globes on several of the pipes and floor length gold fringe hanging from the bottom. The head piece is a white helmet with radiating star like points with small balls interspersed along the spikes. The suit is a bodysuit, the top striped in black and gold, in a chevron pattern and the tights in gold. An embossed gold loincloth is worn over the tights and a similarly patterned gold collar is worn around the neck. The cape is many-layered in blue, green and purple with a gold scrollwork design on the two longest layers. The costume is completed by the white feather like armbands and the gold knee high boots with gold and green diamond pattern.

The head piece is a large silver snowflake attached to a silver diadem from which hang white pearls at the side of the masquerader's face. The suit is a two-piece strapless bodice and mini skirt in a light blue and lilac. The hems of both the bodice and skirt are cut in a handkerchief pattern. The belt of the skirt is black studded with diamonds. The armbands are exactly like the bodice. The masquerader carries a swathe of fabric in hand in the same colour as the suit.

Male costume consisting of a head piece, tunic, spear and suit. The head piece consists of a long fringed scarf around the forehead with feathers projecting out of the back, a spear that has two feathers, blue and yellow. There is a long red tunic over the shoulders covering back and front with yellow, red and blue Apache patterns with a fringe at the ends. Around the waist is a yellow and blue girdle knotted at one side, the ends of which are hanging loose. There are yellow wrist bands on either hand. Indian style moccasins are worn on the feet.

Male costume consisting of a standard, head piece, back piece, shoulder / chest plate and suit. The standard is a shield with an elaborate design attached to a pole. The head piece is a studded diadem. The combination shoulder / chest plate is a made of a series of ovals and circles with the same design as the shield. The back piece is a large circle with a design in diamonds and circles and with a studded edge. An elaborate fringe with beads is draped and looped from arm and wristbands. The suit appears to be a catsuit. The costume is completed by the thigh and shinbands.

All That Jazz placed 3rd in the 1978 Band of the Year carnival competition.
Male costume consisting of a head piece, back piece, shield, cape and suit. The head piece is a helmet with a pair of large curved ram's horns. The back piece is a red and black dartboard with a white centre. The cape is long and red, bordered in black. The suit is a white catsuit with a double sleeve in white, with a black curved pattern at the hems. A long black and white chest piece made of numerous circles is worn over the suit. The shield is round, bordered in black and with the image of a ram's head on it. The costume is completed by the white boots.

Title: Arrowhead Sapphires

Description: Section in the band: Les Bijoux.
Les Bijoux placed 2nd in the 1997 carnival competition.
Female costume consisting of a back piece, head piece and suit. It depicts a necklace made up of two strings of sapphire gems, to which are attached nine floral motifs decreasing in size from the centre, decorated with cabochon sapphires, brilliant-cut diamonds in the shape of arrowhead motifs. The back piece is a sapphire ring interspersed with diamond arrowheads. The earpieces consist of bunches of sapphires and diamonds extending like bat ears above the masquerader's head. The same pattern is repeated in the loincloth that hangs from the waist to the mid calf. A single large sapphire is suspended from a necklace. The two-piece bikini is silver and so are the armbands.

Band created for St. Vincent carnival, 2006 - "All the Winds That Affect Life".
Female costume consisting of a head piece and suit. The head piece is a white hat with blue feathers topped with a long pole that has two flags: one cobalt blue and the other white, also attached to the masquerader's wrists and tucked into the waist of the trousers. The suit is a two piece: a white bodice and baggy trousers that are tight at the ankles, worn with a blue belt. The costume is completed by the blue upper armbands and the white wristbands.

Female costume consisting of a head piece, cape, stole and suit. The head piece is a silvery white helmet with a bead stripe and a bead and feather crown and a bead fringe. The stole is a white feather boa. The cape is made of tiers of frills in turquoise blue, purple, green and cobalt blue. The suit is a long sequinned dress in the same colours as the cape and with a slit on one side. The costume is completed by the long white gloves and the beaded wristband.
Section in the band: Titanic.
Titanic won band of the year in the 1992 carnival competition.
Image is a photograph of the actual costume on a jointed mannequin.
Male costume consisting of a standard, head piece, cape, tunic and suit. The standard consists of three waves of fabric in blue, yellow and purple attached to a pole. The head piece is a silver sequinned helmet with a blue and silver crescent moon on the crown. A blue and silver tunic, in a triangular shape, is worn over the suit and fastened under a belt. The cape is yellow, blue and purple and worn under the tunic. The suit is a pair of blue bathing trunks; a silver braid belt is worn over the suit. The costume is completed by the silver wristbands.

Female costume consisting of a suit and back piece. The suit is a strapless white sequinned bathing suit, with fringe at the ends and a long beaded brooch between the breasts. The head piece is a white sequinned wig. The back piece is a three-quarter circle with the missing quarter at the shoulders. The colours are in stripes of yellow, pink, blue, green, orange and lilac. White sequinned armbands complete the costume.

Female costume consisting of a head piece, body piece and suit. The head piece is a widespread arc of gold, pink, lilac and white beaded spikes attached to a gold, beaded and fringed helmet. The suit is a pink and white sequinned catsuit. The body piece is a circle of spikes carried on the hips, similarly decorated as the head piece. The costume is completed by the pink and white boots.

The suit is a one piece bathing suit with a necklace of cascading beads and a belt decorated with leaves and bead strings. The costume is completed by the fishnet stockings, knee high boots with leaves protuding out of the top, and the multiple armbands with attached bead strings.
